COHORT TRAINING PROGRAM:

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN EXISTENTIAL ANALYSIS & LOGOTHERAPY

The "heart" of the training program is the personal and professional development that it encourages. It is designed to be an in-depth experiential training that incorporates didactic teachings & lectures with self-reflection and experiential exercises. The philosophy of the EA training program is that in order to be a good existential therapist, we need to know and develop ourselves first as individual persons, and from that authentic core, we can better help our clients deal with the themes that are present in their lives.

This program is also meant to foster community and connection between the group members. For this reason, the program is conducted in a cohort format. This means that once the group is formed, it will close and you will remain together for the entirety of the 3 years. This allows for deep connections and support to form within the group that not only facilitate the learning process, but also offer the participants the opportunity to develop a genuine community of like-minded friends and colleagues.

The EA Diploma program curriculum is a thorough education in the 4 Fundamental Existential Dimensions and how they support the person in living a fulfilling existence. In addition, you will learn the practical application of existential analysis to approach clients with real-world, everyday human problems that lead to difficulties, suffering, and an inhibited way of living their life.

Here is an overview of the training program curriculum:

YEAR 1:

1st Fundamental Motivation (fundamental trust):

The ability to ACCEPT the existential reality and/or ENDURE that which cannot be fully accepted (Only then are we able to step into life and able to begin dealing with it in a personal way)

2nd Fundamental Motivation (relationships, values, emotions):

The ability to FEEL the values in life and allow to touch & be touched by the experience of being (Only then are we really alive and able to feel alive through joy, gratitude and being moved by value of life)

YEAR 2:

3rd Fundamental Motivation (personhood, identity):

The ability to be oneself, to accept, see and be seen as one is, to develop enough SELF-RESPECT & SELF-ESTEEM (Only then are we able to genuinely be in relationship, feel liked, respected and accepted as we are with our uniqueness and live out one's own life)

4th Fundamental Motivation (Logotherapy):

The ability to show up in life, to feel what is MEANINGFUL & live life in congruence with one's values that are within a unique context (Only then do we really know the "why" that we live, what gives life a felt sense of meaning & makes it worthwhile)
